The working principle of a laser welding machine:

Laser welding machines are primarily based on photothermal effects: the laser beam is focused into a micron-sized spot, achieving energy densities of 10⁶-10⁹ W/cm², instantly heating the material to its melting point or even vaporization, forming a molten pool. The molten pool rapidly solidifies under a protective gas (such as argon), achieving a metallurgical bond. The main modes include:

Conduction welding: Lower power (<2kW), suitable for thin sheets, with a small heat-affected zone.

Deep penetration welding (keyhole effect): Higher power (>2kW), forming a "keyhole," with welding depths reaching 10mm+.

Pulsed/continuous wave: Pulsed lasers are suitable for precision spot welding, while continuous wave lasers are suitable for high-speed line welding.
